One Year of My Website About Jesus Christ
This post is going to stray from my usual format of talking about Jesus Christ and His Restored Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I just want to take a moment to celebrate the fact that I’ve been doing this for an entire year.
About a year ago, I felt called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through writing on a blog. I started with only a vague idea of what to write about. I ambitiously thought that I could sit down every Sunday and crank out an article each week. That proved to be more difficult than I expected.
For starters, I’m not a professional writer, so that was my first roadblock. The second challenge was the subject matter. Some weeks, I knew exactly what I was going to write about. On other weeks, I sat down blank mind and left my writing time with only the draft of something I’d later abandon. The third difficulty is that some of these topics are ambitious enough to require a lot of work and research, often taking several writing sessions before they’re finished.
My goal of having 52 articles on this site has become 19 published, with several more in draft form, and who knows how many ended up in the trash.
My Deepened Relationship With Jesus Christ
As a result of working on this blog, my faith and testimony of Jesus
Christ have grown significantly. The study and reflection required to write informed articles have helped deepened my understanding of the gospel and strengthened my personal relationship with the Savio.
I hope that reading these posts has also helped increase your faith and expand your knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. If even one post has encouraged you to draw closer to Him, then I consider that a success.
As always look to the Savior in all that you do.
