How David A. Bednar Can #HearHim

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a short video yesterday featuring Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

In the video, Elder Bednar shares how he is able to hear the voice of the Lord in his own life.  His message feels deeply universal  and relevant to anyone striving to recognize the Holy. Spirit in their lives.  We all could use a spiritual boost from the Spirit every day.

I especially love how Elder Bednar teaches that “the scriptures are the prerecorded voice of the Lord.” That simple yet profound statement reminds us that as we study the word of God, we are literally hearing His voice through the sacred writings.  Elder Bednar then explains that the Spirit speaks in ways that are not audible, but are instead felt as impressions of the mind and feelings in the heart.

I can personally attest to this truth.  There have been moments in my life when I’ve clearly felt the influence of the Holy Ghost guiding me towards what I should do.  Those experiences strengthen my testimony that the Lord truly does speak to us, individually and personally, through His Spirit.
