Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you do this website?
Really this is my only Frequently Asked Question and it was only asked once.
In the spring of 2018, I read The Power of Everyday Missionaries, which sparked a deep desire within me to share my faith in more meaningful ways. Much like Lehi’s experience in 1 Nephi 8 of the Book of Mormon, where he partakes of the fruit of the tree of life and is filled with joy. His immediate longing was for his family to taste the same joy. I much the same way, I felt compelled to share the love of God and the message of the restored gospel with others.
The idea of creating a website seemed like the perfect platform to do so. Armed with web development skills and a hosting plan in hand, I set out to bring this vision to life. Early Sunday mornings became my sacred time to writing, offering me the quiet space to focus and reflect. This endeavor quickly became more than just a project; it became a mission of sorts– one that allowed me to not only share the gospel but also strengthen my own faith in the process.
Although I’m grateful for my wife’s encouragement and the belief she has in my writing abilities, the process of creating content is not always easy and can still be challenging. Inspiration comes in waves, and at times, and the act of writing itself can be daunting. Yet, despite the challenges, the moments when I feel the Spirit’s guidance as I write are what make the entire process worthwhile. Those moments remind me of the deeper purpose behind it all—reaching out and sharing the message of Jesus Christ.
Recently, I’ve been reflecting on expanding the website further by adding video content, which would align well with my background in film. This idea feels like a natural next step, allowing for a more dynamic way to reach people. However, video production comes with its own set of challenges, and I recognize it as something I’ll need to pursue in the future when I can devote more time and resources to it. For now, I am content to continue sharing through writing, trusting that the Lord will guide me in whatever form my website takes next.
Disclaimers:
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have a sincere testimony of its teachings. However, I want to clarify that I do not officially represent the Church, and as such, I may not always be the best source for direct quotes for your book report.
When it comes to the images used on my website, I prioritize using my own work whenever possible. In cases where that’s not feasible, I turn images provided by the Church, which are free to use and share.
Additionally, I sometimes include screenshots from broadcasts or videos that I reference in my posts. I make a conscious effort to avoid using others’ images without permission, as I understand the importance of intellectual property and the frustration of having my own images used without consent. To ensure proper attribution, I always strive to give proper credit at the end of each post. Such as below:
