Random Thoughts

This post is going to stray from my traditional form.  I just want to celebrate the fact that I’ve been doing this for an entire year.  About a year ago, I felt like I should be sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through writing on a blog.  I started with only a vague idea of what to write about.  I ambitiously thought that I could sit down every Sunday and kick out an article a week.  That proved to be more difficult than I thought.

For starters, I’m not a professional writer, so there was my first roadblock.  The second difficulty was the subject matter.  Some weeks I already had a thought of what I was going to write about.  On other weeks I sat down without an idea in my head and left my writing time with only the draft of something I would later abandon.  The third difficulty is that some of this stuff is ambitious enough that it requires a lot of work and research to make it take several writing sessions before it’s done.

My goal of having 52 articles on this site has become 19 published, with multiple drafts, and who knows how many are in the trash.  Even this article is at risk of going in the trash because I’m wondering to myself why you’d care enough to read this.  I’ll post it before I change my mind.
