It’s once again time for the General Conference, a special event held twice a year by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’ve written about it before, and you can read more here.
What makes this event so important to members of the Restored Church is the opportunity to hear the word of God through living prophets and apostles. Imagine that! Modern day prophets speaking God’s will to us today!
Surely, in such a troubled and uncertain world, a prophet called by God would have important timely and inspired guidance to offer. That’s exactly what General Conference is all about. Messages of hope, truth, repentance, and peace, centered on Jesus Christ.
You can watch General Conference live on YouTube or stream it through the Church’s official website at churchofjesuschrist.org. Sessions are also available to view or read afterward in many languages.
Another video from the #HearHim series of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints featuring Joy D. Jones.
Sister Joy D. Jones shares how some of us hear Him in one way while others hear the voice of the Savior in another. Hopefully you can recognize yourself in one of these videos.
I don’t know how to put into words a commentary on this moving and powerful video “Your Great Adventure: Overcoming Life’s Obstacles” produced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so instead I’ll let the video speak for itself.
This inspiring message is a much needed reminder of why we are here and what this life is really about. We all struggle at times over the challenges of life. We face discouragement over the seemingly unsurmountable trials. But through it all there is hope in the love of our Savior Jesus Christ and his comforting influence in our times of need.
Sometimes, His help comes immediately. Other times He will come later after we’ve walked a while in the dark. Just know that He will be there exactly when we need Him most.
Some of the powerful lines that stuck out to me while watching while watching the video were: “I’m here to keep trying” “It’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon.” “It’s your choices that show what you truly are far more than your abilities. Even if I failed, I could choose not to give up.”
These word struck a deep cord in me. We are not defined by our setback, but by our persistence, our choices, and our willingness to keep going.
If you’re feeling discouraged while overcoming life’s obstacles, watch this video. Let it remind you that you’re not alone in your struggles. Your journey has a purpose. And most importantly, there is One who knows exactly where you are and He will never give up on you.
Personally, I have faith that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there for me as I’m struggling with my weaknesses and that Christ will lift me up as I turn to Him for help. I believe He will do the same for you.
Should you need additional help, be sure to reach out to trusted friends, professional counseling, or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has Life Help Resources online.
I was genuinely surprised when I came across this video about the grace of Jesus Christ, because the man speaking is one of my friends from way back in high school. Seeing him again brought back memories, and I felt impressed to share it with you. I deeply admire Josh’s willingness to share his struggle with the world and to testify of the Savior’s love. His example reminds all of use that the Savior is aware of each one of us personally and that He never leaves us alone in our struggles.
It breaks my heart to hear of the challenges my friend has faced, yet I feel gratitude knowing that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, the weight and pains of past mistakes can be lifted. Because of Him, sorrow can be turned to peace, and broken hearts can be healed. No matter what we’ve gone through, the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers hope, healing, and the promise of a brighter future.
It’s Christmas 2020, and tonight we gathered as a family to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional, a special broadcast from the leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
President Russell M. Nelson, the prophet and President of the Church, spoke and shared a beautiful message centered on the Savior, Jesus Christ. His words were filled with hope, peace, and a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
May this season bring more of Christ into your heart and home, and may His light guide you in the coming year. Let us remember Him, not just at Christmas, but always.

This Christmas post doesn’t carry much of an outward message, but its power lies in the inward message it whispers to the soul. The Holy Ghost speaks quietly to our hearts, testifying of Jesus Christ and reminding us of His infinite love.
As you watch this video, I invite you to open your heart to the Savior of the world. Let His Spirit bring you peace, hope, and assurance. This Christmas season, remember that Christ broke the bands of death and opened the way for each of us to rise again. Because of Him, we can be reunited with our Father in Heaven and with those we love.
May your heart be filled with His light and your home with His love.
